"Fish and Omakakii (Violet Ver)"" is a paper giclee of Gordon Coon's oil paints on panel.

"Norval Morrisseau, a Canadian Ojibwa, introduced native artists to the Woodland style art. I belive that this style of art is created from the combination of Ojibwa petroglyphs (drawings or carvings on rocks) and images from birch bark scrolls.

These images can also be identified as X-Ray Vision.

The inspiration for these images relies on Ojibwa clans and stories. The artist usually paints images with a heavy black outline and paints what is felt or percieved inside animals (or people). What is painted insid and encircling the animal or person represents spirits or sources or power" says Gordon Coons.
