About the Author – Teresa Peterson, Utuhu Cistinna Win, is Sisseton Wahpeton Dakota and member of the Upper Sioux Community. She works to support the cultivation of Indigenous education across tribal communities and serves on the board of Dakota Wicohan. Teresa earned a doctorate in Education from the University of Minnesota Duluth and a M.S. in Education Leadership from the Southwest Minnesota State University. 
 
About the Illustrator – Jordan Rodgers is Lakota and a member of the Oglala Lakota Nation. As a young graphic illustrator, Jordan was inspired by French cartoonist, Jean Giraud. She also enjoys other art mediums, including watercolor and ink. Jordan is a graduate of Harbor City International School and currently is a student at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design.
